Saturday August 10th – Pedigree Suffolk Show & Sale Report

                   WEST OF IRELAND PEDIGREE SUFFOLKS CLUB;

 Once again our annual Premier Show & Sale was held at Roscommon Mart on Saturday 10th August 2013.PJ Howard from Clare was the judge and once again he  did a fine job.

  The sale got under way with plenty of potential buyers round the ring. The sale opened with some cautious bidding but however this changed when a  lamb sired by Benwiskin Judo  owned by Matt Pearse was  sold for €880.. The trend followed with the first prize winner in the Novice  & Open Ram class entering  the ring . A very classy lamb sired by Solwaybank  Razzle Dazzle from the “Benwiskin Flock “  of James Rooney Sligo sold  for €1100 This was followed later with the Champion of The Show a lamb sired by” Carragh Puma “bred  from the  flock” of Michael & Gerry Killilea Galway .Bidding was brisk and it was sold for €1260 to Eamon Duffy Co Meath. The Reserve champion from the ” Oranmore” Flock of Mary & Mark Greely was sold to Terence Colerain  Galway for €700 this lamb  was part of the  1st prize winner in the Group of 2. A lamb sired by a ram they bred themselves “Oranmore  Super Power”   

All in all prices were good and there was a high perchantage clearance on the day.
