There was a large entry of Breeding stock again this week. Once again there was a buoyant trade for both Hoggets and Breeding Ewes. A pen of 2 year old Ewes fetched €210 while a pen of Hoggets made€234. There was a large attendance of customers resulting in a very high clearance of lots. . Weekly sales continue on Saturday – Gates open at 8 a.m. Sale at 11 a.m. sharp –Show & Sale of Pedigree Vendeen Sheep on Saturday next August 30th – Show at 12 noon sale at 1.30 p.m.
Hoggets ranged from €131 to €234 per head
2 year old Ewes made from €150 to €210 per head
3 year old Ewes made from €105 to €157 per head
