There was a super turnout of stock at last Fridays last sale with a lively trade for both Bullocks and Heifers. Prices for Bullocks ranged from €2.36 up to €3.00 per kilo with a high percentage clearance of lots. Heifer prices ranged from €2.20 per kilo up to €3.18 per kilo with a top price of €1820 for a 585 kg Breeding Char X Heifer -€1235 over its weight. Once again this week there was a big attendance of customers with a strong demand in particular for quality stock. Prices for Dry Cows averaged from €1.75 per kilo up to €2.10 per kilo. –Please note the following: New Health & Safety Rules: Fridays Yard opens at 7.00 a.m. Only Mart Staff will be allowed into the sales yard from 7.30 a.m. to 10.30 a.m. All Stock must be penned by 10 a.m. The Draw for the starting pens will take place at 9.50 a.m. Yard will open to allow Stock to be viewed by Purchasers from 10.30 a.m. to 11 a.m. sharp. After 11 a.m. The yard will be closed again to the public except for Staff Only. Cattle that are not penned by 10 a.m. will have to wait to be penned until after the viewing period is over.
Sellers who do not have their cattle penned by the time they come up for sale will have to wait until the end to have their stock sold.
